[Do Traço à Cidade] records of architectural production in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo
The collective exhibition [Do Traço à Cidade] was an initiative of the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, Regional Section of the Association of Portuguese Architects aimed at mapping contemporary architectural “drawing” practices among architects and/or architectural collectives based in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region.

As part of the invitation to reflect on the creative process, and with the ambition that a simple A4 sheet might express our vision—”from the stroke to the city.”
Presented in multiple layers – that reflect the various phases of the architecture’s project – the architectural work evolves and takes shape from the initial sketch. Starting with the map of Lisbon, each layer is superimposed to reveal a new stage.

The translucent sheets also reveal what lies behind, offering a construction perspective that demands reflection and clarity regarding the process, the solutions, and the starting point.
[Exhibition]
The exhibition stems from a simple idea: every line is a unique expression of architectural thought – the starting point for everything that subsequently transforms into space, form, and city. More than just a showcase, this initiative seeks to map, acknowledge, and celebrate the diverse perspectives that shape the architecture of the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region.
The exhibition toke place in the Beato Innovation District in Lisbon from November 6 to December 3, 2026.
[Catalogue]
The catalogue brings together all the pieces featured in the exhibition and adds six perspectives from architectural researchers.
It stems from the desire to reveal, through drawing, the way architects think about and build the contemporary city.
